With many wetland areas on the Bruce Peninsula, Red-winged Blackbirds have become a familiar flock and loudly signal Spring’s arrival. Although loud they have an enjoyable song with the glossy black males showing off their red and yellow shoulder badges. The males often boldly attack larger birds to protect their young and they are viewed as a sign of protection, good luck and prosperity.
Lynne, a member of the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists, enjoys exploring the Bruce Peninsula through her camera lens and then using acrylic paint to create an engaging visual representation of the inspiring nature surrounding her. Mindful painting has become a therapeutic practice for Lynne, involving meditative contemplation to increase awareness and relaxation while focusing on the joy of creativity.
