This is a life-sized watercolor of nuthatch feathers. There are 2 windows cut in the mat and the top one has vintage game pieces spelling ‘Nuthatch’, the bottom has the watercolor. It is professionally matted and framed.
Valerie Mann is a professional artist and gallery co-owner based near Ann Arbor, Michigan. She earned a BFA in painting from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and an MFA in sculpture from Michigan State University. She has been making art, exhibiting and selling her work in the U.S. and abroad for over 30 years. Mann uses 2D and 3D techniques to create bodies of work that are idea and materials driven. Her sculpture materials are primarily repurposed, while her 2D work is watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil paint.
