Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market is working toward becoming a zero-waste market.

As LHFM Manager, Charlene wants to set an example and has started the TAB LAB initiative –Take-A-Bag, Leave-A-Bag. Like Garden in Thyme, LHFM now provides a TAB LAB container to leave your clean, reusable shopping bags. Forgot your shopping bag? No problem – take a bag! You can find the TAB LAB container on the table at the front entrance of the LHFM. LHFM patrons love this initiative – sharing their many compliments with Charlene.

You can choose to do even more – bring your cutlery. If you are purchasing some of those delicious food options for a snack at the beach or for your hike – consider bringing your own cutlery and take it home to wash. One great on-the-go cutlery idea – Bruce Peninsula Environmental Group (BPEG) sells a very affordable compact cutlery/napkin kit – complete with fork, knife, spoon and napkin. While you are at the Lion’s Head Beach, refill your personal water bottle , rather than purchasing or bringing single use beverage containers. Each small action helps make big changes
