Peninsula Bruce Trail Club is thrilled to introduce the 2022 “For The Birds” Art Fundraiser.

Based on the success of last year’s fundraiser, featuring Fran Turner’s delightful paintings of birds, 10 more visual artists have joined Fran to offer 19 beautiful art pieces for the 2022 “For The Birds” art fundraiser.

Each art piece depicts the natural beauty of the Niagara Escarpment landscape, dazzling water of Georgian Bay or the delightful birds found on the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula.

100% of the proceeds will benefit the protection of bird habitat and education about bird species at risk on the Bruce Trail Conservancy Nature Reserves and along the Bruce Trail on the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula.

Art pieces, shown below, are various sizes and prices. All are ready to hang and available on first-come first-serve basis. Click on the image to read about these amazing artists and their submission.

Winter at Indian Head Cove (Nancy Cornforth)
Winter at Indian Head Cove (Nancy Cornforth)

$225 Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Professional Canvas 20 x 24″

Nancy Cornforth

I have numerous fond memories of Indian Head Cove and the Grotto, long before it was crowded with people coming from miles away to enjoy this beautiful location. This winter scene was captured in a photograph on a day trip there when I had the place to myself once again. In the stillness of solo hiking you can feel the Sacredness of this place. How fortunate I am to live in this peninsula area. About the artist: Painting always lingered in the background of desire. As a teenager, I would frequently look to the sky with a deep impulse to paint it. After years of feeling “I’m not a painter”, I gave painting a try – it only took 48 years! Mostly self-taught, I continue to take classes and workshops, as well as teach classes myself. I create with a spirited eagerness to play and experiment, filled with “joie de vivre”, that I hope both inspires and brings pleasure to all those who view my art.
